Payment error scam: A fraudulent communication from what looks remarkably like an official SARS source, asks you to repay a sum of money that has erroneously been paid into your account. You pay it, but your money has not gone to SARS, instead it has landed in the coffers of some corrupt employee.

R100 million is lost in South Africa annually to cash in transit heists. That is less than the cost to companies from payroll fraud... every year.

In the last decade an unstoppable eruption of social media sites has appeared on the Internet with the ability to increase marketing potential for companies. The benefit for business to client interaction is also greatly facilitated by the ease of use and instant response ability. Unfortunately, when left unmanaged, the personal usage of these sites spirals right out of control and hence employees have been recorded spending literally hours of their working week keeping in touch with their peers.
